Electric Kettles
There are no electric kettles for sale on the island anywhere so if you are coming to stay for a while and want to make your own drinks bring one with you. The hardware store 688 in Bantayan Town does sell a range of electric water heaters to boil 1 or 2 cups of water. They are chinese and come with NO WARRANTY but are cheap enough at less than P100.
 
 
 
ATMs
There is only one ATM on the island as the Bank in Santa Fe doesn't have one. Allied Bank in Bantayan Island has one and you can use your debit cards to withdraw cash and you CAN use  Visa BUT you CANNOT use Mastercard so don't expect to get money, so either bring a visa or delta card or enough cash. The nearest ATM outside of Bantayan Island is in Bogo. Thats about a 30min ride from Hagnaya, the port in Cebu. So its worth bringing enough cash to tied you over for at least a few days.
 
 
Exchanging Money
There are many places who will exchange Dollars or travellers cheques but don't expect to get a good rate. There is a money changer in Santa Fe but their rates for stirling is very low. No one wants British Pounds so best not to bring them unless you are going to stay at Tickety Boo Beach Resort with Bill being British but check with him first to make sure he will accept them.
 
 
Motorbike Helmets
When you hire a motorbike it will be difficult to get a helmet included so bring your own. Its advisable to wear one given the driving but nobody seems to care including the local police so its really at your discretion.
